dont think i'll blabber too much cos there's just so much to write abt the past few days i'll never be able to finish the entry,,,,,,,haven't even typed a paragraph and already i'm feeling very lazy to post. hoookay, i'll just start frm the last few days in BNE and slowly progress to recent events. (:
16th Nov 2009 - last paper + 2012 GOLD CLASS. must say it was a very good experience to watch a movie in a gold class theatre. spacious seats, food & drinks served to you during the movie....super comfortable pls! went with hieu and nigel since both of them were done with exams too.
17th Nov 2009 - intensive selling + packing, casino, lobster dinner. after intensive packing and selling all my appliances within a day, sam (lee) and i treated ourselves to a $10 lobster dinner at cafe21 & a few rounds of jackpot games in the casino. dinner was super worth it cos for $10, the lobster was really yums and the portions were generous.

topped it off with dessert. strawberry shortcake (super cute chocolate reindeers) + baked cheesecake.
withdrew the remaining cash i had in the bank.
hoho! felt so good to hold a thick stack of notes. :D!
18th Nov 2009 - flight home and meet-up with sharon. after a loooooong 8 hr flight, sharon picked me up frm t3 and we went for some snacks + drinks. (:
look so shagged cos i didnt sleep much the night before and couldn't get any rest on the plane. (blaming it on annoying crying babies.)
19th Nov 2009 - lunch with sis and meet-up with sam (tan). zha jiang mian with sis before meeting sam for some shopping arnd the newly opened ION + far east + taka + wisma.
sam was going for the 'ris low - BOOMZ!' look while i was going for a russian bolshevik look. lol.

21st Nov 2009 - meetup with jeanette, jess's mom & joee. met up with jeanette for lunch at a hk cafe to pass her the things she bought from the 'sales post'.
it's been abt 5 yrs since i last saw her but she's not changed a single bit. still as chirpy. (: thinking back now, i've known this girl since primary 1! holy shit i'm old! :/
met up with jess's mom at paragon for tea and passed her some of jess's clothes from the zipia spree i organized eons ago. jess wont be coming back for xmas so her mom's gonna safe keep it first.
met jo ee for tea and a bit of shopping before heading off to a jap restaurant at ION for a very satisfying dinner......... .......but alex crashed our date. :X
scallops were soooooo awesome we had 2 plates of it.
corn + bacon + potatoes.
beef sukiyaki.
salmon sashimi.
grilled squid.

headed over to jo's hse after dinner + ice cream at dempsey where i lusted over jo's amazing wardrobe. all so pretty can die. i reckon all her clothes added together amounts to at least 15k. gah!
the pearl earrings i bought for jo as her belated 22nd birthday gift.
super gorgeous and our wardrobe raid lasted till 2am. by the time i got home, i just died on my bed.

Sometimes in our relentless effort to find the person we love, we fail to recognize and appreciate the people who love us. We miss out on so many beautiful things simply because we allow ourselves to be enslaved by our own selfish concerns.
Go for the man/woman of deeds and not for the man/woman of words, for you will find rewarding happiness, not with the man/woman you love but with the man/woman who loves you more. The best lovers are those capable of loving from a distance far enough to allow the person to grow but ever too far to feel the love within your being. To let go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find his/her own happiness without expecting him/her to come back. Letting go is not just setting the other person free, but is also setting yourself free from all the bitterness, hatred, and anger that you keep in your heart. Do not let the bitterness take away your strength and weaken your faith, and never allow pain to dishearten you; but rather let yourself grow with wisdom in bearing it.
You may find peace in loving someone from a distance not expecting something in return. But be careful, for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past, but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today. There comes a time in our lives when we chance upon someone so nice and beautiful and we just find ourselves so intensely attracted to that person. This feeling soon becomes a part of our everyday lives and eventually consumes our thoughts and actions. The sad part of it is when we begin to realize that this person feels nothing more for us than just a friendship.
We start our desperate attempt to get noticed and be closer, but in the end our efforts are still unrewarded and we end up being sorry for ourselves. You don't have to forget someone you love. What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself. Believe me, you would be better off giving that dedication and love to someone more deserving.
Don't let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind speak for itself. Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as well. Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow. If you lose love that doesn't mean you failed in love.
Cry if you have to, but make sure that tears wash away the hurt and the bitterness that the past has left with you. Let go of yesterday and love will find its way back to you. And when it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a lifetime.
There are two ways to live your life: One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. There is no mistake so painful that love cannot forgive. no past so bitter that love cannot accept.
And no love so little that we cannot start all over with.

sorry for the lack of updates. exams are looming around the corner so i've been pretty busy with revision. last sunday, got together with a couple of friends for dim sum at sunnybank. the egg tarts at landmark are love! so crispy and flakey on the outside with a light, soft, eggy centre. yumsssss!

clockwise from top left: bernard, chelsea, jm, vic, sam and myself.

for a short 5 mins, we squeezed into bernard's 2-door-sports-car to get over from sunnbank plaza to market sq. hahah super illegal but it was hilarious cos ppl who walked past the car kept looking back at us - chelsea was sitting on sam's lap on the front seat.

anyway, jumping back to today, dinner was sooooooooo awesome. a real treat from the incredibly bad hostel food and depressing revision + moodswings. vic and i went for sushi at sunnybank where we had a heart-to-heart girl's talk and a pigggggg out session. the bill totalled to $77.50 but considering what we ate, it's super worth it! (plus super delish!)
within 30 mins, we wiped out everything on the table.
salmon sashimi. (very very fresh!)

scallops + caviar sushi & unagi sushi.

soft shell crab sushi.

garlic butter scallops. omg i love this!

tempura chocolate ice-cream. (aka fried ice-cream)

drooling yet? dinner was soooo good it was orgasmic! i'll definitely bring my family here when they come over in dec. (:

the time of the yr where guys get to dress up in pink, frilly, lacey dresses + makeup and girls get to dress up as guys. it's the last IH party before the exams and also my last party in brisbane but last night was definitely hilariously insaneeeeeee.....free booze, crazy ppl, lots of laughs, fake boobs and heaps of pictures = EPIC! (lady gaga and marge simpson both took the time to grace the occasion. LOL. you'll see why later.) ( click for pics. (Just For LAUGHS!) ) | | |

had our 3rd and final cookout over at jeremy's place agn. this time, weiting and i had to cook for 10 ppl so we started reallyyyy early: 3pm-7pm just to prepare the ingredients and cook all the food. :X but the smiles on their faces after the meal was very rewarding. (: plus, the food was cleared out so quickly there were no wastages! hahah! made weiting and i really proud. weiting's honey-soy chicken kebabs. weiting's claypot tofu with mixed veg. my sweet & sour pork. (: very proud of this dish cos it's really not easy spending 1 hr ++ frying 1kg of diced pork. (it took so long cos we were using the electric stove which took a longggggg time to heat up.) my simple simple bak choy with oyster sauce, sesame oil and fried garlic toppings. (taken with flash) super tired now i could die in bed right away but i have heaps of work to do. gah! better start revising for exams too....! ): - Mood:sleepy

another successful cookout at jeremy's place. he bought all the ingredients, lent us his kitchen, weiting & i cooked, and everyone had a satisfying meal. (: while weiting and i were busy sweating it out in the kitchen, the guys were playing some old school game - guess who?'. jeremy's friend from taiwan said tt it was the best meal he had in brisbane, demos requested tt we save a portion for him and wenchun even insisted on bringing home the extra portions for supper.....so i reckon our ba chor mee must have been really good. we added some unconventional stuff like home-made char siew and used thin egg noodles, 'mee kia', cos we couldnt find 'mee pok' noodles here. ): but it was soooooooooooo yummy nonetheless. :D deep fried wontons. fillings: marinated minced pork and finely chopped water chestnut. (: braised mushrooms for the noodles. used chinese mushrooms and cooked them in black vinegar, dark soy sauce, 5 spice powder, water & oyster sauce. vic loved this so much she kept stealing bits of it before dinner was served. home-made char siew. used hoisin sauce, chopped garlic, soy sauce, honey, hua tiao wine, 5 spice powder and pepper. as for the glaze, used honey, dark soy sauce and sesame oil. (tastes super good. the guys were impressed.) our final pdt! ba chor mee.....!!! toppings: fried won ton, minced pork, fishballs, char siew, braised mushrooms and fried shallots. all mixed up. with chilli sauce, black vinegar, tomato sauce & oyster sauce. US. :D look at tt super happy face. LOL. (picture of the night) nxt thursday's gonna be the final cookout cos of the impending exams. ): gah! i hate exams! - Mood:exhausted

headed to the city with weiting after classes today and spent almost 5 hrs shopping. goodness! my feet ached like hell but it felt soooooo good to be out again after a long shopping draught. (: went for a haircut too! some korean hairdresser in the city. cost me only 25 bucks for a really good cut. awfully pleased cos getting a haircut here is superrrrrrrrrrr expensive. if you go to those normal salons, it can easily set you back by $80 just for layering your hair. :X extremely happy with my buys. nude satin layering top from forever new - in the style of alexander wang. love this piece! bright, colourful and soooooo versatile - from verge. floral corset tank. another lovely piece and quality is so good too! it's even boned. (: - also from verge. was looking for a pearl bracelet. really really love pearls but was disappointed with the ones sold at marketday today. however, the ones from verge were really really pretty i had to get one! had a hard time deciding which one to get since they had a whole box of cheap + pretty cultured pearl bracelets in the shop. after 657392012334.....shops, we stopped by the asian supermarket for snacks. omg omg omg........was soooooooooooo HAPPY to see my fav seaweed snack on the shelves. although they sell it at double the price here, compared to sg, i had to get them. cannot tell you how much i love love love love seaweed.....!!!! (must have been a dugong in my past life.) plus some instant ramen for the exam period. (: hooookay! gonna study now. have a good week everyone. :D ! - Mood:high
